Help with flower bed tips/advice/ideas!
I’m looking for any advice for a beginner planning a DIY project for a flower bed in this area (back to the orange line stopping right at the retention wall). A few details:
I live in zone 9a, south Texas
It’s about 18ft x 7ft
I live on a hill so the neighbor’s lawn to the right is an incline
I wanted to plant a few native flowering shrubs
This area receives full sun for like 12 hours during these summer days.
I was planning to clean it all out, dig a few inches out, flatten it, do some weed control, put some type of edging around it, maybe new soil with some mulch on top with a few native shrubs spaced apart to account for growth. I wanted to do some rocks instead of mulch but research kinda deterred me away from that.
Any thing else I should consider or do? I wasn’t sure if there was anything I should account for with the incline of my neighbors yard eroding or water run off into the bed. Also if any ideas or things I should consider with working around the utility equipment in that area.
Please! Any advice or ideas would be extremely helpful!!
