Neighbor sprayed herbicide. Are my veggies safe to eat?
My next door neighbor hired a lawn service that sprayed Escalade² herbicide on the lawn. Today was the first treatment and they told me they have 3-4 more scheduled this season. I have 3 raised beds growing lettuce, carrots and kale about 40 feet from the property line, and a system of bucket gardens about 75 feet away, partially protected by our house from the neighbors property. The buckets are home to my tomatoes, cucumbers, brassicas, and herbs. I also have a honeycrisp apple tree about 50 feet from the property line.
