93F to 39F cold shap

We've been consistently getting temperatures of 80F and 90F for the past few weeks and my garden is doing well aside from some heat stress. Now this weekend it's expected to suddenly plummet to a low of 39F Saturday and Sunday night. I have peppers, tomatoes, pumpkins, and cucumbers I'm worried about. Do I need to cover these or will the warm weather leading up to that (80s/90s again through this week) keep the soil warm enough to prevent damage? I already have small tomatoes and my peppers are flowering now and I'd hate for something to happen!
