Really thought I had killed my caladium 'Thai Beauty'. Started watering it and this happened in about 4 weeks!

So it was a rough few months for all my plants. Any of them that survived this season of my mental health spiral, is, for real, meant for me.

I went weeks, sometimes a month or more, not watering anyyyyyything. I have a really assorted collection, but it's mostly tropicals. Before? Watered weekly, pruned, fertilized, repotted, the whole thing. You all know. But after some rough times, they all took a backseat to my survival. The cactus and succulents were chill about it, but I lost many plants this year.

But this one was always one of my faaaavorites. Even when my collection was 200+. It got so big every year I owned it (I can't remember if this is year 3-4?). They were huge, vibrant, and just freaking cool. And I had to do nothiiiing. It lived on my patio and I watered it with a garden hose. So this winter, all the leaves had died, and I shamefully dumped out the pot to see if the corm had made it. 2 very small ones somehow did! So I put them in a new pot, WATERED THEM, and a few weeks later I had a sprout! So one pink and white leaf came out and I wanted to cry. The next 2 came this week after I soaked it in water for about 4 days. Then I went to take it out and saw the flower!

The gasp I let out was probably heard by my neighbors across the street. Even with all it's big, gorgeous leaves, I've never had a flower before! It's gorgeous but my camera sucks. I'll try to take a better photoshoot later. I'm not going to lie, already researched how to pollinate

Bright pink hope for me today.
