First dwarf sunflower bloom of the season
Grown in 3 gallon fabric pots with bottom watering reservoirs. Used a mix of Fox Farms Happy Frog, Cultivation Nation, dolomite lime and earthworm castings. Planted microclover, sweet alyssum, and marigolds as cover crops in the same container. Just started showing some nutrient deficiencies into flower, will be adding a generic MiracleGro liquid plant food to the reservoir moving forward.
This one’s going to be a beauty - the seeds were from a single flowering plant I grew last year, so I’m surprised to see so many flower heads. Once it’s in full bloom, she’ll be a tower of gold!
