What to do with a hot tub in a back yard with a slope? Hi all! We are currently under construction for a new build home. We have a small yard with a slope in the back where the builder has planted trees. Although it’s a small yard, we have always wanted to have a hot tub and a space for a fire pit, but want to preserve some of the flat part of our yard because we have young children. Is there a way to utilize the sloped space with stairs and a hot tub on a deck or platform? Would it be better to just use a concrete pad in the flat part of the yard? Would there be a way to build stairs up and put a hot tub area to the right and a platform to the left for a fire pit or seating? Or is a retaining wall better? We aren’t versed in this area, so we aren’t really sure what would be possible. We’re in NC with clay soil. Any thoughts are appreciated! TIA! The photo shows the rough edge of our property.
