Holes in cucumbers plant leaves and yellowing. Please help!
First time growing cucumbers and was very surprised anything came of them. I have had almost no success in growing anything so I’m really wanting to save them. Really need an expert’s advice on what is causing this. I don’t mean to be rude but if you’re not sure please leave it to experts (or someone who has at least had success in growing cucumbers before) because I don’t want to mess this up. :(
Some “backstory” on these: I bought cucumber seeds in a packet from the store. I shoveled out an area outside and put some soil bought from the store in the dirt’s place that’s supposed to help grow plants (including veggies). I did what I thought the instructions said to do, though I felt like the instructions were written poorly or confusing. Thought it said to put several seeds in a spot so I did that. That’s why the cucumber plants are growing really close to each other.
To be honest that never seemed right and maybe I misunderstood the directions because I would think the plants would be competing for resources. I tried to follow the directions regardless.
They were planted on May 10th and it is now June 14th. I believe the seed packet said they would be fruiting much earlier so maybe they’re not getting enough nutrients of some sort. They’re planted out in the open where there’s lots of sun. I haven’t watered them at all. Could be bugs/insects obviously. Could be needing more potassium or some other thing. I live in western PA near Pittsburgh for context. What should I do to help them? What do they need?
