Orchid escaping the pot I have no knowledge of orchids, and this one I received as a gift few years ago. It has been living its life in a transparent pot, but for some time now it just doesn't sit in it. I tried repotting , but all the roots inside the pot rot and the plant is trying to grow it's roots outside the pot. I don't overwater it, it could be rather said that as a succulent lover I have tendencies to underwater. The soil is a special orchid soil I bought. It gets lots of light as it sits next to the windows and the climate is rather hot. I water it once a week by submerging the pot in water for a couple of minutes.
