Behold: I have beaten the chipmunks
We bought this house in 2020, and every year we have waited patiently for the garden's strawberries to ripen.
Every year, without fail, the chipmunks have gotten to them first.
Fed up after three years of this, I moved most of the plants into our raised beds. Last year, we got a few juicy red berries to share; the chipmunks ate the rest before they could blush.
This year, however, I have been able to pick a whole bowl of strawberries, seeing only a couple half-eaten fruits. We have changed nothing, so I'm unsure of the cause of this delightful harvest, but these days I am looking to take whatever bits of good news I can get.
I will still take any/all plant-protection advice y'all will give, though. ;)
