Question on holding off planting brassica & celery spring seedlings until later in the summer?
So these celery and cauliflower starts were being given away at my local garden centre and I’m thinking they’ll last another month or 6 weeks and I can get them in the ground to replace the garlic when it comes out. I’m also concerned that since these were likely started in April by the greenhouse they’ll be spent and too stressed to perform as hoped.
Anyone ever held off planting spring grown seedlings until later in the summer to get a fall harvest?
They didn’t seem too root bound and I potted up and used a mix of compost, peat, top soil, worm casting and cricket manure (great stuff). So I think the roots have room and nutrition.
