genuinley sorry for the awful picture i promise i will add better ones tomorrow.. any ideas on my blackberry plant?

this little guy has been with me since last year, i can't remember the time of year, probably spring/early summer. it was even smaller then, barely clinging on to life. it spent that year growing some roots and getting stronger, and stayed outside throughout the winter (england) and it sits on the north side of my garden, the sunniest spot (the house puts the rest in shade). it gets direct sunlight from about 9am-5pm, and indirect/shade for the rest of the daylight hours.

it gets watered if the top few inches of the soil are dry, and when it is watered it is done thoroughly until the water pours out of the drainage holes in the bottom of the pot.

i tried googling it myself but the only thing i can find is orange rust disease, which looks brighter and scaly, but this isn't seperate colouration to the leaves, it's the actual leaves turning orange/red/brown. there was an issue with ants living underneath it so i moved it onto this table, but i know ants can climb, so could it be ants aphid farming?
