Garlic bulbs are small, can I leave it in the ground longer?
This is Edenrose Garlic I planted in the autumn (around November I think) in some haybales as an experiment. It actually grew pretty well on the surface, and my understanding is that when the bottom leaves are dying off it's time to pull it.
So I had a little peek under the hay and also pulled one up to see, at first I thought it had done the monogarlic thing, but I cut it open and it does have cloves, but the whole thing is a fair bit smaller than I was hoping.
If I wait a bit longer will the bulb size increase or will it just spoil?
