Retaining wall choice
Needing to replace our boundry retaining wall. It's roughly 32m long and we are planning to extend the height of the wall up to around 2m so back yard is level and fill it in with clean fill. The wall will ideally be one continuous wall rather than being tiered like it currently is. Soil is clay. Previous wall was a 2 tier timber wall which is failing.
I like the look of sandstone blocks but I've been reading that they wouldn't be as good of a choice as say concrete sleepers for soil that is mostly clay. Is this correct?
The only issue I have with the sleepers is aesthetics really. The posts appear to stay exposed and I'm not sure if there is an option to cover them up. I've attached a pic for reference.
