  • Is this tree dying?

Cut down a sizeable dead branch from an otherwise healthy appearing tree. A few other lower level branches were also dead, but many are not. This is what the cut looks like. Curious for those who know more - is this a sign that the tree itself is dying / in poor health?

    Thanks!

  • I want to show you one of my prides: I found a small abandoned piece, I rescued it and planted it... It has been in that pot for 7 years and has never had a problem. Sansevieria trifasciata is air purifying! and it is so easy to care and reproduce

  • Yamadori tips & tricks

Got a chance this weekend to collect some trees. What's the best way to get started? It's private land, I do have permission, and I'll have plenty of opportunities to gather in stages and come back later. (pic unrelated)

  • Colocasia new leaf unfurling pest vs physical damage?

First colocasia. I did spray with insecticide soap and repotted when I got it home reputable nursery (as I always do with new plants). Watering regularly to keep soil consistenly moist. Humidifier in room. Planted with begonia companion. Good light in front of west facing window. Well draining mix coco coir, peat, perlite and bark. Slow release fertilizer have done iron foliage spray (had a deficiency). I do not have any pest problems with any of my other plants that I’m aware of. Just want to be cautious since I’m not familiar with this genus.

  • What order should I lay base layers for this project?

It seems like everyone does it differently. I keep seeing tips for laying pavers OR gravel but not the combination of both. For reference I have very bad drainage with mostly compacted clay.
    So far my plans are…
    1. Level soil
    2. Lay crushed gravel
    3. Put down weed block fabric
    4. Layer of sand
    5. Lay pavers
    6. Lay decorative gravel around pavers

I’m also seeing skip sand if I have bad drainage in general is that so?
