• New and could use some advice.

I recently got some carnivorous plants after being inspired by them while shopping and I’m wondering how to best get them potted up. The only pot the shop had I liked has no drainage holes, but that’s nothing a masonry bit can’t fix. What is a suitable soil medium to use? I have a bad of dried out sphagnum used for orchid plantings, but I also read that you can use a peat/sand mixture as well.

At one time it was red and now the leaves are very dried out. Wondering if it can be saved. Thanks in advance plant people 🙏🏼

  • Should I separate?

Brought home a bird of paradise last year. It’s very happy. This spring, we noticed some small viney leaves growing. They have started taking over the pot. Should I separate? The bird of paradise has recently sprouted a new leaf so it seems like it doesn’t mind sharing its pot…also, can anyone ID the vines? Thank you! Plant is watered when soil feels dry. Receives about 8 hours a day of indirect sunlight.

  • Gladiolus growing yellow - how should I save it?

My tallest gladiolus is growing everyday but now the tip is becoming yellow as you can see. What should I do, change the soil?

Watering habits - water it when the soil gets dry, but it's been raining quite a lot here so maybe this roots are becoming rot

The plant is outdoors so it gets pretty direct light every day when it is not raining here

  • Update on my first try at growing an elephant ear from a corm (10 weeks)

Now, I just have to decide whether to put it in the ground or move it to a big pot to leave on the patio. I don't want it to get too much sun but I also want to keep a good eye on her and make sure she gets enough water, if I have it under trees ( I tend to neglect watering plants in my yard).

  • Huge pitcher normal?

Is it normal that the first new pitcher your plant gets is almost twice the size of the old pitchers?

  • Found in NE Ohio

All the berries I could find resembling these have leaves that look different, so I figured I’d check in here and see if anyone had any idea. Starts red, matures to black, clustered. I considered black raspberries, blackberries and mulberries (the most likely candidate I thought)

  • What to do with this bank

I have a new construction home that they needed to re do the land on. There's a long pretty steep embankment in the backyard. They put hydro seed on it but it's nearly impossible to cut and need something to grow on the hill that doesn't need maintenance.

What do people do with a hill like this? I saw blue rug juniper looked really nice where you plant a few and it creeps and expands to cover the whole area and usually snuffs out any weeds. Do you put down weed fabric barrier and then dirt or how do you grow plants on this hill from scratch?
