  • A couple of weeks ago I was frantically searching this sub as to why my tomatillos weren’t setting fruit…

First year growing tomatillos in attempts to get my fiancé more involved with the garden by dangling the notion of many future jars of salsa verde. The first couple of weeks they were absolutely COVERED in flowers and the pollinators were out but they kept dropping…I got concerned. Then I left town for a few days and came back to an explosion of little paper bags! Turns out they just needed a little more time, one of the plants was flowering a little earlier than the other and they just needed to catch up a little bit (but most likely the warmer night temps played a roll)

  • New to tomatoes!

Hi all, this is my first time growing tomatoes, and I’m a little confused at what I’m seeing, hopefully you all might have some wisdom?

I have 2 15 gallon containers that I’ve started growing tomatoes in, both set up the same way: 8 parts organic raised bed mix to 2 parts compost/work casings. My happy looking tomatoes are cherry tomatoes, but my gloomy, sad tomatoes are 1 roma and 1 bushboy. I have been trying to get my sad tomatoes in a better state but after about 2 weeks I am wondering if I need to change up how I am treating them. I started by adding fast acting sulfur (soil reading at about 6.8 now) and by spraying plants with an organic pesticide (containing a small amount of neem oil and potassium salts). They seemed to do better but now they arent progressing. To make matters worse the one plant had 2 big stems chewed off by bunnies!

Is there any hope for the 2 sad tomatoes plants or do I need to start anew? I feel bad for killing them!

  • Hidden Japanese Maple

After about 2 years of living in my house, I found a stunted Japanese Maple in a concrete planter round the side of the house.

It had been overshadowed by a corkscrew hazel and the previous occupants had piled garbage around it. I've taken it out and reported it as you see above but could do with some advice on how to help it thrive.

We're in the UK so it gets plenty of rain and I've put it in a spot that's mostly shaded but gets some sunlight and I have the Planta app to help me along but I'm a total plant novice.

    Please help

  • What is this plant?

Growing in a pot of mine that’s got a fig tree started but this has grown alongside the fig

    South-central texas

Could be something I tried planting before a couple years ago, but I’m not sure.

Trying to decide if I should re-home it or if it’s a weed and just needs to be pulled

  • My Kalanchoe needs help!! Dusty layer and dying leaves

I left for 3 days & came back to this. It does get partial sun and I don’t remember changing anything. Few to consider: It is a couple ft away from my lettuce bed which is currently suffering from leaf miners & fungal gnats. Also, I might have put a drainage net at the bottom when I potted it. I water about every other week. There is a dust like substance that comes off powdery so definitely not wax. I seen online this could be powdery mildew but I want to make sure before i treat it. I’m thinking of trimming some bottom leaves because the top soil is nearly covered by its leaves.
