Am I overwatering or under watering?

I live in Central Texas and I have some Calla Lillies that have been growing slowly in a pot for about a month. Since it’s getting hot (around 70F-95F), I started watering them a lot in the mornings because I’m worried the heat will dry up the soil too quickly. I was always taught that when watering most plants, you do so until the water is standing above the ground.

My Calla Lillies have been doing well so far, despite the heat, but after yesterday, the leaves started to turning bright yellow. The soil is a little moist right now, but not soaking wet.

The internet’s solutions are confusing since I can’t tell if this is an issue of not enough water, too much water, or something else. So I came here because maybe someone can give me a better answer?
