How do you get that tall, thick, dense lawn? I work in a new-home subdivision in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. There are a couple of lawns that really stand out: tall, thick, dense. What’s the secret to something like this? Is it fertilizer, extra water, mowing technique, added sand? I know next to nothing about lawn care. First day of the strawberry harvest! Amd what a great first day it is! We picked about 5 pounds from the backyard garden this evening. We've been growing organically and lost most of our crop last year to just about every known creature that runs, hops, flies, or crawls. A few preventative measures and one year later, and these 5 pounds are more than we got in total last year! I'm sure we will still end up sharing some of the ripening berries with our wild friends, but tonight gives me hope that there might be some jams and pies in our future to share with our human friends, too!
