  • New vegtable garden

Still a work in progress; I still have to add trellis and whatnot just trying to get it ready for the next season. We're completely new to gardening. I just started building our raised beds yesterday. There's a few more I have to do. We are in SWFL zone 10a. The bed next to the shed was originally going to be for tomatoes, basil, and marigolds, which is 2'x8' and 24" tall. There will be another bed to the right of the big box down the fence, and a couple more in the middle with a 3 foot walk way all around . The small long bed is just going to be for some zinnias for some cool color. However, while building the boxes, I noticed the shed gives shade to that box until roughly 12:00, as that's the east. Can I still put tomatoes there with that much shade, or what are some other options that would be better, and I can move them to a more sunny part of the garden when I get the boxes done?

  • Identify these tiny white bugs

I don't think they're springtails, but these tiny white bugs clumped together just showed up in my terrarium which I built a little over a month ago.

  • What does my Ivy need?

She's been growing fantastically last year, but for a couple of months now her leaves started to yellow, crisp up and fall off. I'm not sure why. I've relocated her to a window which recieves more light, thinking she would like that, but this has been happening ever since. Coincidence or not? Maybe she's just outgrown the pot? I can't really check since I've wrapped all the vines around the pot. Also she had scale which I didn't notice until I've already killed them all while treating my other plants for spidermites.

  • How to repot these poor aloe vera?

I read that it's best to cut off the leafless stems and then leave the rest to callous over. Is that necessary or can I just put them back in soil after discarding the bottom bit? Thanks!
